Congratulations!
Congratulations on this exciting time in your life! Thank you for trusting Lillybelle Rose Photography to capture these precious moments. Looking forward to our session together!
The studio is located near Oak Brook Shopping Center at: 800 Merry Lane, Oak Brook, IL. The incredible dedicated studio space is located in our home, which sits at the end of the cul de sac on Merry Lane. (Please feel free to pull up the driveway, parking ‘streetside of the walkway’, and to one side to allow space for others to pass. )
*PLEASE stay home if unwell. Masks will be handed out if a client seems stuffy, or is sneezing or coughing.*
Sessions are for immediate family only – parents and siblings of newborn. No pets allowed in the studio.

Contact me within 48 hours of your little one’s arrival at francine@lillybellerosephotography.com THIS IS IMPORTANT! (See link at bottom of page). Be sure to include his/her name, gender, birth date and birth weight! I will reply with a confirmation of your session date and time, and a note as to whether or not we will need to adjust the previously schedule session date.
Do not schedule anything else that day. There is no set end time for your newborn session because each baby is different. If you come in with a set time you must leave the studio, you may not get a gallery filled with the level of variety I strive to deliver. Your baby leads the session with their soothing and feeding (and pottying!) needs, so please allow us the time I need to deliver my very best. Newborn sessions can last as little as 45 minutes or up to 2 hours. The range in time allows for babies who might not easily fall asleep or might be a little fussy that day. Extra time will not be given to those who are late to their session. Being late to your session may result in not being able to complete certain poses or portions of the session.
LATE FEE, CLIENTS ARRIVING MORE THAN 15 MINUTES LATE WILL INCUR A $50 LATE FEE AUTOMATICALLY CHARGED TO THE CARD ON FILE THE DAY OF YOUR SESSION.
Avoid perfume and frangranced lotions for everyone attending. I am allergic and will be impacted, and I want to be at my best for you and your baby. Thank you for understanding.
Grooming tips (Does not apply to Swaddled Sessions) come with love, and understanding that you are tired and busy! Men, please be sure to trim ear, nose and brow hairs. These modern cameras catch it all! Mamas, be sure your nails are clean or freshly polished. Your nails will show while holding your precious little one. Grab lotion and lip balm to pop on before your poses.
AVOID GLITTER, especially on siblings. Glitter travels, and sticks. It can get on baby and props, and the floor, and the furniture, and…I’m sure you understand. 🙂
Avoid thick diaper cream the morning of your session. Be sure to fully remove any remaining cream before heading to the studio. It is very difficult to fully remove the white cast left behind by diaper cream and I don’t want to cause any discomfort. You can slather it on at the end end of the session!
What to wear (Does not apply to Swaddled Sessions) Your newborn will be swaddled in one of the beautiful, delicate, neutral wraps I have on hand during any family and sibling images. Â This allows parents to focus on connection and snuggles without worrying about squirmy new souls and corraling limbs. Â It also helps baby fall into a deeper sleep for his or her posed solo images which follow. For parents and siblings, soft tones and yummy textures will give your images an emotional, romantic feel making it easy for the viewer to focus on the subjects. Â I. Love. Soft. Tones! Â Also, be comfortable. Â This means wearing comfortable fabrics that fit well, with colors which compliement you and your family. Our goal is to capture your new soul and the connection you have with her/him, and soft, simple clothing choices help subjects stand out in an image. Â Avoid logos or large patterns. Off white or cream, oatmeal, or soft light colors for a dreamy feel in your images. Avoid dark colors, especially black, as it photographs too stark and dark for this genre of photography. Â You want the focus to be you and your newborn! If you do like the fun and vibrant look, choose jewel tones for fun pops of color. Â For little big siblings, please keep them comfortably dressed, because stiff clothes result in stiff subjects. Â
The night before your session: File your little one’s nails. Hands are up near face throughout the session and we don’t want any tears from scratches. Pack a supplemental bottle if you are nursing and your supply is not quite in, or an extra bottle if bottle feeding. Pack a pacifier, even if they don’t tend to use one at home. It’s a simple way for me to soothe them so they are calm and pose effortlessly. If you are breastfeeding, please do your best to avoid caffine and gassy foods, eat well and drink plenty of water to keep your milk supply flowing and rich. If you have gas drops, please bring them along.
THE MORNING OF YOUR SESSION
Please do your best to follow the below instructions to help ensure your little one is relaxed, sleepy and poseable.
This truly is a team effort!
- KEEP YOUR NEWBORN STIMULATED/AWAKE AS POSSIBLE FOR ONE HOUR before heading to the studio to help him/her fall into a deeper sleep for our session. THIS IS IMPACTFUL! Give him/her a long bath to help keep them awake and stimulated, change their clothes, diapers, positions, etc. Remember – no oils or diaper cream before the session.
- Give him/her a FULL feeding just before heading to the studio. If he/she keeps falling asleep, tickle feet, change diaper, change positoins – a full feeding is important.
- AVOID DRESSING BABY IN ANYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE PULLED OVER THE HEAD. Dress your baby in a zip up or magnetic outfit that does not need to be pulled over baby’s head.

Time to think about your background preference for family & sibling poses. This is the fun part!
(Does not apply to Swaddled Sessions)
WHITE
The bright white background is created using a lit backdrop. This background creates an image of joy and energy! If you like the look of the white background, I suggest wearing light colors, avoiding any deep/dark tones. Definitely avoid wearing colors like navy and black.
BEIGE/CREAM
This soft, neutral color is perfect for an understated, “romantic” vibe. It is by far the client favorite, and works well with soft or saturated colors. Definitely avoid wearing black.
BLACK
The black wall is perfect for those who like a more striking, dramatic feel. Wearing deeper hues, grays or blacks is great for the black background. I suggest avoiding white, cream or any light/bright tones. Love this with black and grays!
If you know what you are wearing but can’t decide on a background, I am happy to help once you arrive!
