A year to remember
As I look forward to a year of hope, this post will not be about all the losses suffered in 2020. Instead, let’s focus on the blessings.
The long and quiet months during lockdown brought my family of five together again, with our eldest and our grandpup sheltering at ‘home’ where groceries and company were easier to come by. Our other two finished their college semesters remotely after spring break (Senior and Freshman, ouch.), and as we worked through the bumps in the road, I relished the family time as a whole unit. We cooked more, watched shows together, and shared many laughs. We were blessed with baby robins hatching right outside a kitchen window, and four monarch caterpillars on our milkweed. One of our mini poodles became quite the frisbee catcher as my hubby enjoyed more backyard time with the pups. It IS the little things!
Our middle daughter graduated from an outstanding university in May, and we couldn’t be more proud of her hard work and dedication. She also quickly secured a job in her field of choice (A tough feat in this economy!)! Having her home for the long haul is a sweet bonus, (Lucky me – She’s a beautiful singer and fills our home with piano and song almost daily!) and as a bit of a homebody, she’s not mad about it! 🙂
Our eldest, Lilly, co-founder of a great little company, moved to TN this summer to be closer to her co-founder and their efforts paid off. These two powerhouses launched an incredible parent tool. They are changing the way we approach mental health and sex education.Â
Our youngest secured a spot in the Hubbard Street pre-professional summer intensive (virtual) dance program and performed in one of the best virtual performances I’ve seen this year! She has also discovered an interest in and talent for painting!
And, of course, there are the many new souls who brought endless joy to the year. May not have had as many in the studio as years past, but this year was like no other (Thank G_d!). Every one of your littles touched my heart and gave me so much to look forward to during the long days of the year!
Meet the sweetest 2020 babies around!
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your support throughout the years. I wish you all a happy, healthy, prosperous new year!
